This is about the third time I stayed at the Aspen Mountain Lodge and I love it. It is such a good value, close to town, you can walk anywhere. The parking is free which is not always the case at hotels. The breakfast was wonderful, juice, bagels, fresh fruit, etc.

Only place we could get a room Friday Jan 25 due to Xgames and only a 1 night stay. ]
Rooms and bathroom was basic and clean with view of parking lot on second floor. Quiet at night. Staff was pleasant. Free insight parking. Free breakfast that included hard boiled eggs, fruit, coffee, juices, pastries, muffins, toast, waffles in a pleasant space . Newspapers in AM
I'd recommend.

Arrived at the Lodge after hiking in rain & snow over W Maroon Pass. The Lodge provided not only shelter from the storm, but I felt comfortable, welcome, & thoroughly enjoyed my 2-nite stay.
The short walk into downtown provided a nice opportunity to view some of Aspen's older, comfortable real estate.
Bus stop immediately across the street allowed easy access for returning to the trailhead back home.
I picked the Lodge randomly & couldn't have been more pleased.

Great location, decent rooms nice common area. Breakfast is pretty good but do NOT be late, the cut-off time IS the cut-off time. The boys really liked the pool a lot.

Parking, breakfast was very good
the hottub is amazing
the rooms are very clean
the front desk manager - Sherry - was amazing. she was very very helpful.
We had the cheapest room booked in the lower level/garden level. she had few rooms "not booked" and offered us free upgrades without we asking for them. nice service.
she helped us find the right bars/restaurants to go to..
overall a decent pleasant experience.

Great lodge to stay at in Aspen. They offer a free wine and cheese hour after the slopes close and great breakfast in the morning. We stay here every time we come to Aspen. Very affordable and easy access to the Aspen buses.

I found this lodge to be comfortable and exactly what I expected from the website. Get ready for lots of stairs, depending on which floor you stay on. (I was on the 4th.)
The front desk was helpful depending on who was there. On my way out, I asked where I could leave my luggage while I had breakfast. Then when I left, the person at the desk didn't even say good bye or thanks for staying with us. She wasn't on the phone either. This was not a good way to end my visit.

Fantastic hotel and staff - the bed was absolutely in the top five of all hotels I've ever stayed in (in terms of comfort) and the shower is amazing! The bus stops to the various mountains are within a block of the hotel and it's a comfortable walk to town. Most importantly, the coffee at the complimentary breakfast rocks - we'll be back next year! Highly recommended.

Second stay at this lodge. Rooms are cozy and comfortable. Convenient location to everything in Aspen. Close bus stops for skiing access. Good continental breakfast each morning. The desk personnel were very helpful and friendly. Was great to have free off-street parking. Great value.

Cozy lodge with friendly and helpful staff. Pretty good location a 5 minute walk from the town center and right near the important bus stops. Rooms are a little outdated, TV was substandard and there was no DVD player. Hot tub and pool not attached to hotel, across the parking lot. Continental breakfast was decent. Bed itself was springy and poor quality. Room size was good. Overall a good place to stay, one of the better values in Aspen.

What a great find. The best value in expensive Aspen. Convenient location to everything and good continental breakfast each morning. The desk personnel were very helpful with directions, etc. It was also nice to have free off-street parking. We will surely stay here again.

Good value (for Aspen!). I was looking for somewhere cheap in Aspen to get a good night's sleep. It exceeded my expectations, with a nice room and shared lounge for relaxing. The buffet breakfast was very good. My only issue was that the heating was noisy and woke us up at night.

A good Family place to stay. Nothing fancy, but they had all we needed. Continental breakfast; wine, cheese and snacks at the end of the day; a hot tub, and a good size room. My one recommendation to anyone planning on staying there, if you are staying in one of the lover level rooms, make sure it is not right outside the eating area. Ours was (room 102) and everyone could see directly into our room whenever we opened the door and it was bit noisy (however not as bad as I had expected) We would stay at the Aspen Mountain Lodge again.

Friendly and comfortable. Breakfast and apres ski offerings were great.
Desk personnel were very helpful with directions, restaurant recommendations, bus stop info, etc. We would certainly return!
Two small complaints. The breakfast and evening offerings never varied, and the hot tub was only lukewarm twice while we were there.

We had a great time at the Aspen Mountain Lodge. It was the best value hotel in downtown Aspen. It was clean, affordable, convenient to all of the slopes, restaurants and bars and made for a really enjoyable experience. The rooms were spacious and clean. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel provided a nice hot tub with a view of Aspen Mountain and a big breakfast every morning. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone interested in a good value and convenient hotel.

Rating is 9.5 We had an excellent stay here. Close enough to walk downtown; Shuttles to all within the mountains are within a block. Breakfast and Apres skiing everyday was good. The staff at the lodge were EXCELLENT-like having a personal concierge - taxis were arranged, boarding passes were printed- the service was fantastic- Thank you!

We stayed at this hotel for just one night and wished we could have stayed longer. We were traveling with our two small children and were pleased to find our room was clean and even smelled fresh. At first we were concerned about the kids being able to make the short walk to downtown but it was not a problem. It was only a few blocks and we all enjoyed the walk. The complimentary continental breakfast was good; even the kids liked it. The staff did have all the info that we needed about the local area. My only complaint would be that the person that checked us in was not overly friendly and the A/C unit in our room was fairly noisy. But in spite of that we would definitely recommend staying here and we will stay here again too.

The Aspen Mountain Lodge was a great choice for us in July 2007. We hiked the West Maroon Trail from Crested Butte to Aspen, reached the lodge by bus and enjoyed two days in the "big city" (music festival concert, Aspen Institute lecture, good food) and then hiked home to Crested Butte. The room was large and very comfortable. The hot tub much appreciated! Great location right in town.

My husband and I have stayed here twice and we really do like this place! The first time, we brought our dogs. They are very dog friendly! AML is very cozy with the huge fireplace. The breakfast is pretty good and a great perk. It has to be the most affordable place to stay in Aspen. It's very close to downtown Aspen...walking distance if the weather is good. We will return!

Stayed for two days in late July, 2006 with my wife and two little kids. Very clean, very nice place to stay in an excellent location. Room was clean, well maintained and comfortable. Whole property well maintained. The pool is small, but again clean and welcoming. Staff were exceptionally nice and helpful tips re: restaurants, the bus system and hiking . Breakfast very good with lots of options for different appetites. Price for Aspen was good, for the rest of the world probably a bit steep but you'd be hard pressed to spend less for the location and overall property quality. Would recommend it to practically anyone who wants to travel and stay within a budget.

We enjoyed our stay here and found the staff VERY helpful and friendly, and quite knowledgeable about acivities, places and restaurants in the area that met our needs. Room was comfortable for 4 people. I would not have wanted to stay on the bottom floor; that might have been noisy in the morning during breakfast. Overall, great.

The location was great. I enjoyed the short walk thru town to the downtown attractions. The main gathering room was inviting as well as intimate. I could sip wine in front of the fire and read my book and easily converse with the people who were enjoying there visit to Colorado. My kids rented a movie from the onsite collection while I sat in the hot tub and relaxed. In the morning there was a nice continental breakfast served. There was everything from eggs and bacon to fresh fruit, bagels and Belgian waffles, made by me... That was fun. I look foward to staying at Aspen Mt lodge in 2004.
