About Bud Light Spring Jam

The 9th annual Bud Light Spring Jam, the premier spring festival in the Rocky Mountains, continues like never before with two weekends of new-school competitions, downtown concerts and parties. The festival kicks off Friday, March 20th with the Bud Light Big Air Fridays in Snowmass and continues in Aspen with the Core Party in Aspen.

Event Descriptions

Core Party – March 20 – 8:00 pm – 11:00 pm
Kicking off Spring Jam is the CORE Party in downtown Aspen on Friday, March 20 featuring Rusted Root. Rusted Root combines jam and rock sounds with strong percussion influences and is best known for their hits “Send Me On My Way,” and “Ecstacy.” The show is FREE and open to the public, taking place on the corner of Galena Street and Cooper Avenue. Enjoy the beer garden, munch on kettle corn and check out the Aspen Art Museum’s interactive “Portrait Studio” with artist Patterson Beckwith.

Fallen Friends Memorial Event – March 21 – 11:00 am-1:00 pm
Held in Aspen Highlands this one-day event will gather teams of 2-6 to compete in an obstacle type course of jumps, bumps and park features. All the proceeds from the event will benefit the AVSC scholarship fund in honor of our “fallen friends” over the past few years. Registration will be on-line at www.aspensnowmass.com/springjam

KickAspen Big Air Invitational at Aspen Mountain – March 21 – 8:00-9:30 p.m.
One of the most anticipated events of the year, the KickAspen Big Air is in its 10th year of showcasing the best ski and snowboard athletes in the region to compete under the lights at the base of Aspen Mountain for prize money.

Bud Light Big Air Fridays - March 20 & 27 – 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Competitors gather on Fanny Hill to perform the latest and coolest tricks. Music only steps away in the Snowmass base village and fireworks follow this great family spectator event later in the evening.

Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert Series – March 22 (Snowmass) & 27 (Aspen Mt.)
These FREE outdoor concert will feature some of the best musical talents in the country; generating huge excitement among the captured audience of visitors & locals. Check back for info about the musical acts!

Terrain Park Boot Camp presented by Crocs – Saturday & Sunday - March 21, 22, 28 & 29 – 12:00-3:00 p.m.
The Terrain Park Book Camp is an entry level terrain park that will be set up on Fanny Hill. Aspen Valley Ski & Snowboard Club coaches and athletes will teach beginners (13 and up) how to safely slide a rail, hit a box and throw a trick. From children to parents, this is open to anyone interested in learning the ropes of the terrain park. It will be open from 12-3 p.m. on March 21, 22, 28 & 29.

Red Bull Schnee Tag – March 28 – 2:00-4:00 p.m.
Hold on tight for the Red Bull Schnee Tag event (pronounced Schnee Tog) on Fanny Hill at Snowmass. Teams of four are invited to create a craft that will slide down Fanny Hill and attempt to soar over a 75x20 foot pond. Each team will perform a skit before their run and will be judged on costume theme, creativity and flight distance of their craft. The craft must be entirely human powered with no external energy sources. The craft must be less than 10 feet wide and weigh less than 400 pounds, including the pilot. Each team will pick just one member to fly their craft across the pond. Registration forms will be available on the events tab at www.aspensnowmass.com/springjam.

Helly Hansen Battle in the Bowls – March 29 – 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
In its 2nd year this event, hosted by Aspen/Snowmass Athlete Chris Davenport, teams of two (competive and non-competive divisions) use Flaik GPS devices to track how skilled each duo is at skiing the many bowls of Aspen Highlands.
