Get away to Aspen Snowmass this April. Spring is about celebrating, and you don’t want to miss out on closing day parties at Aspen, Snowmass, and Highlands. Start planning your last-minute weekend ski trip
to Aspen Snowmass.
If you go, here’s what to expect.
At Aspen Highlands closing day
on Sunday, April 9, check out Schneetag, a pond skimming event. Schneetag involves teams riding homemade watercrafts as far as possible across an ice-cold pond. Teams choose their own theme, so look forward to some creative costumes and crafts.
Insider Tip from the Aspen Skiing Company
Still can't get enough skiing post-Schneetag? Along with Snowmass, Aspen Mountain will be staying open until April 16. Ride the Silver Queen up and take a few laps on the epic, top-to-bottom run connecting Copper, Copper Bowl, Kleenex Corner, and Little Nell. Ski it without stops and your quads will be burning into May (but in a good way).
On Saturday, April 15, Snowmass is hosting a Spring Fling Beach Party in the Base Village. Check out the DJ battle, sand dance floor, pig roast, and more from 3 - 7PM.
The next day, Sunday, April 16, Aspen Mountain
and Snowmass Mountain
celebrate the end of the season. This year, closing day falls on Easter, so you won’t be the only skier tearing it up as the Easter bunny. But for après, squeeze your bunny ears into a sombrero, as closing day festivities take a south of the border twist at Ajax Tavern, located at the base of Aspen Mountain. Chow down on Mexican street cuisine, sip margaritas, take a swing at a piñata, and enjoy the Mariachi band from 1 - 5PM.
