The evenings are frosty; snow is sticking at higher elevations; and the hills are ablaze with the yellow glow of fall aspen trees. Winter is coming, and we’re excited! In a few short weeks, the resorts will open, and ski season will be in full swing. If you haven’t booked your Aspen Snowmass ski vacation yet, now’s the time!
And to make winter travel easy, we’ve put together Aspen Snowmass winter flying tips.
Plan, plan, and plan some more!
A good plan leads to a smooth vacation experience. Before you arrive, book Aspen Snowmass lodging
, set up a shuttle to and from the airport, make reservations at your favorite restaurants, buy lift tickets, and rent your ski and snowboard equipment.
Your Plan B
Due to variable mountain weather, Aspen Snowmass flights can change. Have a backup plan if your airline diverts your flight to Denver or Grand Junction.
Ship Your Luggage
is a low-cost door-to-door service that can save you from long waits at airport check-in. You also don’t have to worry about lost luggage or baggage claim. We highly recommend Luggage Forward if you plan on bringing your own skis or snowboards.
Rent Your Gear
Don’t lug your old skis or boards all the way to Aspen Snowmass. Your trusty pair of planks from college served you well, but they have nothing on modern ski technology. Rent your gear from Four Mountain Sports, and they’ll deliver your rentals to your hotel.
Drink lots of water. Flying and high altitude vacations are dehydrating. Instead of sipping beer or wine on the plane, drink lots of water. Trust us ― you’ll feel a lot better on your first day on the slopes and all week long.
