It’s no secret that Snowmass is one of the most family-friendly ski resorts in the world. It has ski terrain for all skill levels, world-class ski and snowboard instructors, and great activities like tubing

, a collection of après ski activities designed especially for kids.
Here’s a look at all the fun to be had each day of the week during the 2017-2018 winter season.
Mondays – Wildside with ACES
When: 4:00–5:00pm; Starting December 19, 2017
Take a walk on the wild side with Aspen Center for Environmental Studies’ (ACES) and its Naturalists. Every Monday, they will introduce kiddos to live animals that might include a Great Horned Owl, Tarantulas, Boa Constrictors and others that call ACES home. All ages are welcome.
Tuesdays – Snowmass Heroes
When: 3:30–4:30pm; December 10, 2017 – April 10, 2018
Have you ever wondered how ski patrol dogs or snowmakers do their jobs? Kids and their parents are invited to find out with a behind-the-scenes presentation about how these mountain town heroes do their thing. Adults are asked to accompany kids to this programming.
Wednesdays – Storytelling At The Ice Age Discovery Center & Cookie Decorating
Storytelling At Ice Age Discovery Center
When: 4:00–5:00pm; December 20, 2017 – April 11, 2018
Where: Ice Age Discovery Center on the Snowmass Mall
Did you know the Wooly Mammoths once roamed the mountains where Snowmass is today? Kids and their parents can find out more about Snowmass’ ancient inhabitants at the Ice Age Discovery Center. Adults must accompany children.
Cookie Decorating at The Viceroy Snowmass
When: 3:30–4:30pm; December 20, 2017 – April 11, 2018
Children three and up can swing by the Viceroy with their parents at the end of the day to make a deliciously customized cookie all their own. Adults must join their kiddos for this one.
Thursdays – Family Day at The Snowmass Village Recreation Center
When: 10:00am–8:00pm; December 21, 2017 – April 12, 2018
Cost: $40 for families of four, $10 per additional child
Looking to give the legs a break for a day? Parents and V.I.K.s alike can mix things up while saving a bit of money thanks to the discounted rate at the Snowmass Village Recreation Center. From an indoor climbing wall and fitness center to outdoor swimming and skating, there is no shortage of fun to be had. V.I.K.s must be accompanied by adults.
Fridays – Ullr Nights
When: 5:30–8:30pm; December 23, 2017 – April 7, 2018; Bonus Tuesdays: December 26, February 13 & March 20
Where: Elk Camp
The most action-packed weekly event in Snowmass, Ullr Nights are named in honor of the Norse Snow God–Ullr. V.I.K.s and their families can celebrate the snow and the spirit of Ullr with sledding, snowshoeing, snowbiking, tubing, rides on the Breathtaker Mountain Coaster, live music and exceptional dining. Tickets for tubing are required and reservations are recommended.
Saturday – Family Fun at Après on the Bricks
When: 2:00pm–4:30pm; December 16, 2017 – April 14, 2018
Where: Base Village Plaza
The Snowmass Base Village is abuzz with entertainment and activities every Saturday as the ski day begins to wrap. A DJ spins tunes as face painters, balloon artists, and dancers entertain V.I.K.s and their families. V.I.K.s can also have their picture taken with Snowmass’ Ice Age mascot, Snowy the Mammoth, from 2:30–3:30pm.
Sundays – Postcards from Snowmass
When: 4:00–5:00pm; December 2017 – April 15, 2018
In a perfect world, friends and family would be able to come along on every ski vacation. Since they can’t, kids can design their own postcards to send to friends and family back home and let them know just how much fun they are having being a V.I.K. Materials and postage are provided and adults are asked to accompany kids participating in this one.
Daily Bonus – Snowmass S’mores at the Base Village and Snowmass Mall
When: Everyday 3:30–4:30pm; November 23, 2017– April 15, 2018
Where: Fire Pits in Base Village near Basecamp Bar & Grill and on the Snowmass Mall near the New Belgium Ranger Station
