Après at Snowmass Base Village with live music from DJ GeoDecibel. For families, there’s a kids’ zone with face painting and balloon animals. After you après, the celebration continues with the Elk Camp Retro Party at Elk Camp Restaurant. Enjoy throwback cuisine and cocktails from the mountain’s culinary history. Don’t forget to dress the part in vintage ski clothes! Buy tickets for the Elk Camp Retro Party.
And to cap off the evening, check out the fireworks show on Fanny Hill at 9pm.
Saturday, December 16
A Snowmass tradition in the 1980s and ‘90s, we’re excited to bring Banana Days back to celebrate 50 years. There will be a Banana Days Scavenger Hunt with 1,967 clues and prizes hidden on the mountain and throughout the Base Village. After the hunt, check out the après-ski fun at Snowmass Base Village with live music by DJ Benny.
Sunday, December 17
We’re bringing back another Snowmass tradition for the 50th anniversary weekend — the Cabin Jump. Join in the action, or watch the brave participants attempt to clear a cabin on skis or snowboard. Also, don’t miss the community picnic at the Spider Sabich Picnic and Race Area.
Breathtaker Alpine Coaster at Snowmass Mountain
In late December 2017, the Breathtaker Alpine Coaster opens. On an elevated track winding through trees, you can sled down the over one-mile-long course at speeds up to 28 mph! Check out the coaster at Elk Camp this winter.

just wrapped up a 3-year glading project on the Lucky Find run, which runs alongside the Deep Temerity lift.
will continue hosting their Full Moon Dinners at Cliffhouse Restaurant. Last winter, these dinners included free hot chocolate, snacks, a cash bar, the Cliffhouse’s popular Mongolian BBQ, and an à la carte dinner menu. The first Full Moon Dinner of the 2017–18 season will be on January 2, 2018. Hike, ski, or snowshoe to the top!
Opening Day Is Almost Here!
So, that’s what you can expect in Aspen Snowmass during the 2017–18 season. We’re looking forward to lots of skiing and riding, and we can’t wait for opening day (November 23 for Aspen and Snowmass Mountains; December 9 for Highlands and Buttermilk)!
